On the 12th of August 1978 Uriah Heep played as headliners at the Ruisrock festival in Turku, Finland, the other international acts in the bill were Boomtown Rats and Eric Burdon. This was the second time that Heep headlined the festival (the first time was in 1972) and several comments in newspapers and by spectators said that the festival was considered a failure this time, only 6000 people showed up and Heep saved what was there to be saved from this year´s festival with their performance. Ruisrock is the longest-running festival in the Nordic countries and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this weekend (30th June - 2nd July 2000) so this is probably a good time to remember the last time that Heep played there.
