CUSTOMISED STAMPS EXHIBITION AT THE POST MUSEUM

EAGER TO PLEASE STAMP

In Finland it has been possible for two years to have customised stamps made from your own images. In the Summer of 2005 Heikki Kyllästinen has the idea of making a stamp of Ken Hensley. The cover of Eager To Please" lp was chosen as the subject since last year it was the 30th anniversary of the release of that album.

On 6th September an exhibition of these customised stamps was opened in the Post Museum at Helsinki General Post Office. During these two years almost 2 million copies of stamps have been made with ca. 15 000 different images. On display at the exhibition there are over 600 items.

This is a translation from the Finnish Post website::
"The best known faces in this exhibition are Matti Nykänen (the all time best ski jumper, won many Olympic Gold Medals and World Championships), Ilmari Kianto (very famous finnish author), Helmut Lotti and Ken Hensley who was the keyboard player and guitarist of Uriah Heep."

The Eager To Please stamp is situated between Matti Nykänen and Leonard Cohen (this was made by a Finnish fan on Cohen's 70th birthday). Click here to go back and have a look at the pictures
